Dozens of women staged a protest in Bacha Khan Chowk on Wednesday against the absence of staff and non-receipt of money at the center set up for the Ehsas Kafalat Program (EKP) at Mardan College.
Talking to media, the protesting women said that aid money was not being given due to non-availability of staff. While women from remote areas are being treated like beggars.
The women said that the staff was working diligently to pay the money. Women who come to collect money are humiliated every day. Not even a place to sit in the scorching heat. In this regard, Fawad Khattak, District Coordinator, Ehsas Kafalat Program, was contacted and said that the designated center has been changed due to examinations in Mardan College.
But so far the district administration has not provided electricity, water and seating for the computers.
