Prominent politician, philanthropist and former member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mehraj Hamayun launched her book titled ‘My brief political romance’ in the provincial metropolis.
The impressive launching ceremony was held at a local hotel the other day and was attended by large number of people including politicians, top civil servants, diplomats, academicians, intellectuals and journalists.
The speakers on the occasion paid rich tribute to the author Mehraj Hamayun whom they said was very well known for her philanthropic activities and selflessly serving the humanity specially the down trodden segment of the society.
They said she was the first lady politician of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who dared to pen down her experience as the parliamentarian though in a bold manner yet with honesty and provided valuable information about the prevailing political system of the country.
In the book the author has also suggested ways for good governance through better legislation in order to serve the masses in an effective manner.
Mrs. Mehraj Hamayun, who has been a vocal member of the previous assembly, thanked the participants for their encouraging words and vowed to serve the humanity in personal capacity as well through her writings with renewed zeal in the future.
