91,041 officers vaccinated so far IGP underscores early vaccination of cops

Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani on Sunday said that the Punjab Police have been performing its duty as a frontline worker for the protection of life, honour and property of the common man during the Corona pandemic.

“Despite many officers and officials have fallen victim to Corona, the police continue to discharge its national obligation diligently.

Inam Ghani said that the ongoing process of Corona vaccination should be completed in all districts of the province as soon as possible so that the police force could continue performing its duty of protection of the people while remaining safe from this contagious epidemic.

He further said that the supervisory officers should complete the vaccination of the subordinate force under personal supervision and reports in this regard should be sent to the Central Police Office regularly.

DIG Welfare Agha Muhammad Yousuf informed the Punjab IG Police that so far 19815 officers and personnel aged 50 to 60 years and 25016 officers and personnel aged 40 to 50 years have been vaccinated against corona.

He further said that the process of corona vaccination of officers and personnel in the age group of 30-40 years is also in full swing and so far 46,210 officers and personnel in the age group of 30-40 years have been vaccinated against corona.

Collectively, 91041 officers and officials aged more than 30 years have been vaccinated against coronavirus and the remaining force and staff are being vaccinated without interruption.

He further said that besides district police in all the districts, corona vaccination is also being carried out in Punjab Constabulary, Investigation Punjab, Special Branch, CTD, Traffic, SPU, PHP and other field formations.

The IG Punjab urged all officers and personnel to ensure implementation of SOPs in all cases while on duty.

He further said that the health and life of the police officers and their families is of utmost importance to the police department as only by staying healthy we can better fulfill our responsibility of serving and protecting the people.
