The Finance Sub-Committee comprised of Finance, P&D and HUD & PHE Departments met here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Director General (DG) Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to scrutinize/vet the annual budget of the authority for fiscal year 2021-22.
The meeting was informed that the outlay of the authority’s budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 was Rs 2,379 million.
The major portion of the budget amounting to Rs 1,984 million has been allocated for the ongoing and new development schemes.
The ongoing development schemes including Construction/Widening and Improvement of Dry Port Road from Rahimabad Flyover at Airport Road to Welfare Complex via Chaklala Railway Station, Shell Depot, would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 50 million while construction of three pedestrian bridges at Airport Road would cost Rs 69 million.
Funds has been allocated for land acquisition for construction of Lai Expressway and flood channel projects under new development schemes of ADP 2021-22 and Rs 300 million allocated for remodeling project of Kutchery Chowk.
Similarly, Rs 300 million allocated for Defense Chowk remodeling project and Rs 20 million for establishment of Project Management Unit (PMU) for construction of Lai Expressway Project.
Income target for FY 2021-22 has been set Rs 433.325 million while RDA has achieved recovery target of FY 2020-21. Rs 395.001 million has been allocated for non-development expenditures/expenses which includes pay, & pension and other expenditures.
Asif Mahmood Janjua, Director Adman & Finance, RDA, Muhammad Junaid Taj Bhatti, Deputy Director Finance, RDA and the representative officers of Finance Department, HUD & PHE and P&D Departments attended the meeting.
