Pakistan administered more than 2.3 million anti-Covid vaccines last week for the period of June 12 to 18, said National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) chief Asad Umar on Sunday.
According to Umar, the inoculations were done at a rate of 332,877 per day. “This is the highest so far in any week,” Umar shared on his official Twitter handle.
He added that the country was set to receive about 5 million jabs in the next 10 days.
With this development Umar hoped that Pakistan will achieve another record number of vaccinations in the coming week.
The country reported 991 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours, taking the country’s Covid-19 tally to 947,218.
The country’s death toll climbed to 21,940 after 37 more people succumbed to the deadly disease.
Meanwhile, 1,282 patients recovered from the infection in a day, taking the total recoveries to 889,787. The total active Covid-19 cases across the country were reported to be 35,491.
