The Lower House of Parliament on Monday observed ruckus and uproar over the tragic train accident in Ghotki, the government held responsible the previous rulers while opposition asked for resignation of minister.

The house environment became worse when Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry in his speech held responsible both PPP and PML-N, as according to him both parties destroyed national institutions like PIA, Pakistan Steel Mills, PTV, Pakistan Railways and others.

The minister claimed that both made huge political appointments and destroyed these
public sector departments.

As the House began in evening with Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri on chair, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asked the government to give up routine agenda and discuss the train accident.

PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal also supported and wanted to
discuss the tragic incident.

The PML-N leader regretted that government ministers were holding previous government responsible for the incident

During the PML-N government Rs43 billion was provided as developmental budget for PR while during
the PTI government the funds reduced to Rs16 billion only.

JUI-F chief Asad Mehmood demanded of the government to provide complete details of this and previous PR incidents in the House. Mohsin Dawar demanded independent inquiry of the incident in stipulated time period.

Responding to quarries of opposition questions, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that accidents were taking place in the railways due to shortcomings of many years.

He said if the money of Orange Line had been spent on the railway track, such a situation would not have arisen. The minister alleged that in Nawaz Sharif era, an entire railways track from Mangla was bought by Ittefaq Foundary. Criticizing former rulers he said that they laid the foundation for
corruption and coercion adding that they did not care about the nation.

Fawad Chaudhry said that those who remained in power destroyed PTV and Pakistan Steel Mills. Those who destroyed the country are teaching us today. The blood of those died in railways accidents is on the hands of PML-N and PPP, he added.

Government institutions were destroyed through political recruitments. In comparison, the PTI did not make a single political recruitment, said minister.

The federal minister said that PTI spent three years on getting the institutions back on their feet but the opposition wanted to close only NAB cases instead of judicial and electoral reforms.

He said that till the next elections, these parties will be limited to a few constituencies.
