Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday deplored the politicisation of Daharki train accident by the opposition, saying the elements using train accident for their politics only want to remain alive politically.
He advised the opposition to extend sympathies to the bereaved families. Regrettably, the impassive cabal is busy scoring points instead of sharing the pain and agony of the affected families, he maintained.
It seems the opposition is obsessed with the unending lust for power and the nation has realised that this gang has no respect or honour for the lives of the ordinary people.
Using the train mischance for political purposes is a symbol of mean mentality; he added and stated the government fully shares the pain of the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday said the Punjab government has given full liberty to the government officers to perform their duty and postings are made purely on merit.
The CM stressed the menace of nepotism has also been done away with and no pressure was ever exerted for the execution of official duties.
The PTI-led government has given unprecedented freedom to perform and there is no political pressure on the officers and departments.
The officers are performing their duties under a system of the chain of command, the CM added.
He regretted that the past rulers promoted a culture of humiliating officers based on their likes and dislikes and the ego of some officers was hurt in the open.
The incumbent government values honest, hardworking and service-oriented officers and those working hard for serving the masses will be fully encouraged, concluded the CM.
On the other hand, on the direction of CM Usman Buzdar, an emergency has been imposed in Rahim Yar Khan and Sadiqabad hospitals to treat the injured passengers of the Daharki train contretemps.
Similarly, emergency information desks have been set up in the hospitals along with a control room in the DC office RY Khan to update the people.
The CM telephonically directed Commissioner Bahawalpur and DC RY Khan to ensure best medical facilities for the injured and the attendees should also be fully taken care of.
The DC RY Khan has informed that 14 injured are taken to THQ hospital Sadiqabad while 34 others are admitted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital RY Khan.
Meanwhile, CM Usman Buzdar expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the loss of precious human lives in the train accident near Daharki and extended sympathies to the bereaved heirs.
The CM has prayed for early recovery of the injured adding that the Punjab government fully shares the grief of the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, the chief minister said that 5-day anti-polio drive will continue till June 11 in the province and it is satisfying that no polio case has been reported this year due to the effective measures taken by the government.
In his message, the chief minister appealed to the parents to administer anti-polio drops to their children.
Saving minors from polio disease is a collective responsibility and everyone should extend support to safeguard the future of the children, he said and asked the line departments to ensure the best results through sustained efforts.
