Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat on Friday said that it has been decided to move a summary to the Chief Minister to regularize all the contract employees of the Law Department, saying currently almost all employees are on contract.
He was chairing a meeting here on Friday. Law Secretary Bahadur Ali, Additional Secretary (Admin) Muhammad Iqbal, Solicitor Punjab Farooq Altaf and other officers attended the meeting.
The secretary briefed the Law Minister about the problems and performance of the department.
Raja Basharat directed that in the light of the instructions of the Supreme Court, the work of updating the laws of Punjab should be accelerated.
He revealed that funds would be allocated in next fiscal year for construction of separate buildings of Advocate General office in Rawalpindi and Solicitor’s office in Lahore.
The provincial minister also directed that the official website and digital media of the department be regularly updated and the performance of all sections of the department be further improved for effective and speedy legislation.
