A teenage girl was allegedly murdered by her own parents in the name of honour on Friday.
According to police, the incident occurred in Hafizabad.
The police sources informed that deceased teenage Maryam was found dead in a graveyard in Hafizabad.
After being informed, police and rescue officials rushed to the scene and shifted the body to the hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The police said that the girl wanted to marry a man of her choice but her family was against wish.
The teenage girl was strangled to death after being subjected to severe torture by her mother and father, the police added.
Meanwhile, a girl was allegedly raped by an armed man in a village within the jurisdiction of Layyah Saddr Police.
According to police, the accused, identified as Shahid barged into the house of the survivor and raped her at gunpoint. A case has been registered against the accused.
Moreover, the girl, in her statement, said the police was deliberately delaying the arrest of the accused.
She has appealed to authorities to take notice and provide her justice.
