Cabinet allows SSWMB to operate in Hyderabad, Kotri also

Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah’s vision for the development and better sanitation conditions of the province is facilitating the people with pace.

According to the latest updates, with the formal approval of the Sindh Cabinet, the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board will now also provide services within the jurisdiction of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Qasimabad and Kotri Municipal Committees.

Talking about the achievement of this new milestone, Secretary Local Government Engineer Syed Najam Ahmad Shah said that under the mission of keeping the sanitation situation best in all the districts of province, the Sindh Cabinet has decided to formally assign responsibilities to the Solid Waste Management Board to function in the union councils of Kotri and Qasimabad along within the limits of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

According to Sindh Local Government Secretary, from next financial year, Sindh Solid Management Board will perform its duties in all the above mentioned areas and the tender process of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has also been successfully completed.

Ahmad Shah further said that the performance of Sindh Solid Waste Management Board in six districts of Karachi has been appreciated by the Sindh Cabinet and Solid Waste Management Board would be made morestronger and independent in the future.

Zubair Ahmed Channa, MD, Solid Waste, said that due to the special attention and continuous guidance of the chief minister and local government minister of Sindh, the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board is moving towards the path of progress day by day and Secretary Local Government Syed Najam Ahmed Shah is striving to bring SSWMB up to the international standards.

Channa further said that in future the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board would fulfill its responsibilities in all the districts of Sindh and the province would be provided sanitation system as per global standards.
