Inter-provincial, intercity and intra city transport with 50 percent passenger occupancy resumed on Sunday in the country after hiatus of about a week.
The National Command and Operation Center has also allowed railways to maintain its operation with 70 percent occupancy.
Regarding business hours, NCOC allowed markets and shops to remain open till 8:00 PM from today onwards.
It also allowed normal working hours for offices from May 17 onwards whereas the condition of 50 percent work from home would remain enforced.
The National Command and Operation Centre said on Sunday that registration of citizens above 30 years of age for Covid-19 vaccines were now open, urging every one to “get yourself vaccinated”.
In a tweet, the NCOC explained that citizens above 30 years of age could register themselves by sending their CNIC numbers to 1166.
It added that walk-in vaccinations were now open for those above 40 years, but it would require prior registration.
Meanwhile, Pakistan on Sunday received another consignment of Covid-19 vaccine from China comprising of 1.2 million doses.
The plane carrying the vaccine doses which have been purchased by Pakistan from China landed at Islamabad airport on Sunday evening.
The Ministry of Health received a batch of 1,000,000 doses of the SinoVac vaccine and 200,000 doses of the CanSino vaccine procured from China.
The sources further shared that another batch of two million vaccine-SinoVac will reach Islamabad on May 21.
The federal government has expedited the imports of vaccines after the virus spread intensified in the country.
In a bid to expedite the vaccination process in the country, Pakistan has signed contracts for the purchase of the Covid vaccine with several companies including Chinese firms.
National Command and Operation Centre on Sunday said that as many as 2,379 cases of Covid-19 and 76 virus-linked deaths have been reported in the country during the past 24 hours.
According to the NCOC, after the addition of 2,379 cases, the number of active cases nationwide has reached 68,819.
It said that overall 877,130 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the country of which 788,768 have recovered from it. “19,543 people have died from the infection,” the body said.
Punjab reported the most 325,662 cases and 9,367 deaths followed by 298,078 cases and 4,794 deaths in Sindh, 126,787 cases and 3,766 deaths in KP while Balochistan reported 23,831 cases and 264 deaths.
The federal capital, according to NCOC, reported 79,123 cases and 731 deaths while federally administered areas including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir witnessed 5,418 cases and 107 deaths, and 18,231 cases and 514 deaths respectively.
