On directives of Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani, massive operations are being carried out in all districts of the province to raise sense of security among the masses and protect their honour, property and life.
The police have also been making strenuous efforts to improve the law and order situation.
In this regard, the Gujrat Police under the supervision of DPO Omar Salamat, have been fighting against anti-social elements.
DPO Omar Salamat said that over the past 30 days, the district police arrested a total of 357 proclaimed offenders, including 74 Category A, 196 B category and 87 court absconders.
During the operations against drug dealers, a large quantity of drugs was recovered in which the police recovered 26kg of hashish, 217 litres of liquor from the possession of the accused.
Similarly, 20 members of seven gangs involved in dacoity and robbery were arrested and stolen goods having worth of more than Rs4.8 million were recovered.
Whereas in 72 cases of illegal arms including 03 Kalashnikovs, 2 guns, 11 rifles, 54 pistols, 2 revolvers and 194 bullets were recovered.
DPO Omar Salamat further said that full scale operations against anti-social elements would continue. The district police are fully alert for the discharge of its duty.
The people should consider the police as their protectors and helpers and immediately inform the police concerned about the presence of suspicious persons around them.
He pledged that no effort will be spared to protect the life, honour and property of the common man.
