Assistant Commissioner Hafizabad Asif Nawaz has taken 120,000 sacks of wheat into government custody worth Rs.35 million from smugglers and hoarders during last twenty four hours.
According to details, Assistant Commissioner raided in Kaleki village where hoarders were stocked Nanty five thousand bags of wheat in seven godowns.
AC has taken bags of wheat into government custody and sealed seven godowns.
Meanwhile, AC was stopped 12 truck of wheat being smuggled to KPK from Hafizabad area and recovered seven thousand sacks of wheat from trucks.
The district administration Muzaffargarh has launched a crackdown against illegal wheat stockists and seized 3000 wheat bags at Kot Addu area.
Under the drive Assistant Commissioner Kot Addu Dr Fiaz Ali raided at godown of Shahzad and company at Chowk Sarwar Shaheed area and and confiscated 3000 wheat bags stocked illegally.
The recovered wheat was shifted at wheat procurement centre chowk Sarwar Shaheed.
Police also took two trucks loaded with wheat at Makwal chowk. Purchase Inspector PASCO Muhammad Ahsan shifted the wheat at purchase center PASCO Alipur.
Naib Tehsildar Pakpattan, Safdar Joyia seized 1,200 bags of wheat illegally stored at the house of a farmer in Chak Mouza Dullat Abad.
The Revenue Department official, along with the Food Department staff, conducted a raid at the house of Haji Yousaf on receiving information about the hoarded commodity and seized the wheat bags. The recovered wheat was shifted to government warehouse.
On the report of Assistant Food Controller Muhammad Rafique, the police have registered a case.
District administration Multan has recovered illegal stock of 2100 bags wheat from a godown situated at Shujabad here on Sunday.
In line with special directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ali Shahzad, the Assistant Commissioner Shujabad Muhammad Zubair along with police team launched a crackdown against hoarders of wheat and sugar.
The officer recovered illegal stock of 2100 bags wheat from a godown and later, shifted to Dairapur wheat procurement centre.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Zubair said that no one would be allowed to stock wheat and sugar and added that strict action would be taken against hoarders. Further legal action was being initiated against the owners of godown, he added.
