Corona positive cases reducing sharply in KP: Bangash

Special Assistant for Information and Higher Education Kamran Khan Bangash Thursday said that the corona counter strategy of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government worked effectively and due to timely action taken by the government, the positive cases in the province has been reducing sharply even in the high positivity districts as well.

He said this during a media briefing soon after the Provincial Task Force meeting held with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Chair.

Corona positive cases are declining sharply thanks to the government’s best strategy, Kamran Bangash said.

The number of positive cases in the province at present is 8-9%, Kamran Bangash informed the media men. He said it is very encouraging that the most affected districts are also declining.

He said the meeting was given a detailed briefing on Corona counter strategies of the provincial government and implementation of the corona code of conduct across the province. He said the meeting decided to close all tourist destinations from May 8 to 16.

Other provinces to be contacted for closure of tourist destinations and inter-provincial transport, Kamran Bangash said, adding, “The management of tourist destinations will check the identity cards and take action against non-locals.”

He said, grocery, medicine and grocery stores will remain open till 6 pm during lockdown in the province. He said, it has been decided to keep milk and yoghurt shops open 24 hours a day.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister praised the enhancement of health capacity and directed to further enhance this capacity, Kamran Bangash informed.

The Chief Minister has directed the concerned authorities to procure corona vaccine at the provincial level as well, Kamran Bangash added.
