An accountability court in Lahore extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif till May 20 in money laundering and assets beyond means case on Thursday.
Police brought the PML-N leader from the hospital and presented him before the Lahore Accountability Court Judge Asad Ali. Former Mayor of Sialkot Tauheed Akhtar also reached the court in Lahore to express solidarity with his leader.
Earlier on Tuesday, Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench comprising Justice Aalia Neelum and Justice Farooq Haider heard the bail petition filed by Khawaja Asif and Justice Aalia Neelum noted that the NAB prosecutor had been asked for submitting another copy of reply earlier but still the copy was not placed in the file of other member of the bench.
Subsequently, the bench adjourned the matter and directed for placing the two copies of the reply in files.—Staff Reporter
