Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Tuesday that the PML-N pioneered the use of money and rigging in the electoral process and has, always, preferred a corrupt system.

“This party is used to engaging in corrupt practices for the sake of staying in the political arena.

The PML-N has exposed its corrupt political designs by evading electoral reforms.”

The SACM said that inefficient and defeated opposition has faced defeat at every front and the PDM has also ended in a fiasco.

Meanwhile, Maryam Safdar and her cronies are unnerved and the treatment meted out by Bilawal Zardari with Maryam Safdar and Maulana is tragic.

“The Maulana’s desire to enter into a political marriage of convenience with Peoples Party and ANP will also be frustrated and the PDM will further disintegrate, she said.

The corrupt gang is worthless before a transparent and courageous leader like Imran Khan, added the SACM.

Meanwhile, the SACM Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the government is committed to ensuring the provision of essential commodities at affordable prices, adding that Ramazan Sahulat bazaars have been set up to provide maximum relief to the people.

She said this while talking to the media during her visit to Ramazan bazaar Barkat Market Garden Town here on Tuesday.

Dr Firdous said the purpose behind visiting Ramadan Bazaars is to ensure the availability, quality and prices of essential commodities to the citizens.

She said the CM has directed all the cabinet ministers to visit the Ramazan bazaars in their respective districts to ensure the subsidy being given to the people in Ramazan bazaars.

The SACM said that 1,201 price control magistrates are performing their duties to monitor the supply and demand, price and quality of essential commodities during Ramadan.

On May 3rd, the magistrates conducted 12,450 inspections. These inspections revealed 1,924 overcharging, hoarding and other violations on which 89 cases were registered and 68 persons were arrested, she said.

Dr Firdous said that a fine of Rs2,974,053 was imposed on the violators whereas 1522 inspections were carried out to check the scales, 19 violations were found and legal action was taken against them.

Similarly, 29 raids were conducted against the hoarders and 480 sugar bags and 82,818 flour bags were recovered from them.

The SACM appreciated the district administration and organizers of the Ramazan bazaar for the satisfactory arrangements.

She said the bureaucracy and the public representatives both aim to provide relief to the masses.

The efforts of the government cannot be materialized into reality without the support from the bureaucracy, she said.

She directed the administration to increase the number of sugar counters for the facilitation of masses.

Dr Firdous said the electoral reforms introduced by the federal government aim to ensure free, fair and transparent elections however the PML-N supporters are opposing these reforms which show their non-seriousness in the matter.

The PTI government is committed to ensuring free, fair and transparent election by introducing technology, she said.

Responding to a question, Dr Firdous said if there is any violation in the implementation of SOPs, the law will come into force and strict action will be taken against the violators.

To another question, the SACM said that we should apologize to the people because we are accountable to the people.

Everyone should perform his/her duties within the constitutional and legal parameters, concluded the SACM.
