Dr Yasmin urges private hospitals to back govt anti-Corona efforts

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid reviewed the status of facilities for Covid-19 patients available at private hospitals in a meeting at the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education here on Monday.

Present in the meeting were Prof Dr Mehmud Shaukat, Special Secretary Silwat Saaed, Consultant Prof Asad Aslam Khan, CEO Punjab Healthcare Commission Prof Saqib Aziz, Director Licensing PHC Dr Anwar Janjua, DG Labour and representatives of hospitals.

The representatives of private hospitals included representatives of Ghurki Hospital, Doctors Hospital, Fatima Memorial Hospital, Surgimed, National Hospital, Hameed Latif, Shalamar Hospital, Gulab Devi, University of Lahore and representatives of other hospitals.

Special Secretary SH&ME Department Ms. Silwat Saaed presented review of situation.

The Health Minister said, “We have had a detailed meeting with the representatives of the private sector. As many as 20 private institutions are linked with Teaching Hospitals.

Every Teaching Hospital has reserved two ventilators and 20 beds for Corona patients.
In out private sector, 400 beds and 40 ventilators have been added.

The information about status of facilities shall be shared from the central control room. All Teaching Hospitals have revised rates for Corona patients to 2020 level.

The PHC is complete coordination with private hospitals. All private hospitals will display their rates prominently.

All complaints on Oxygen supply will be addressed immediately with private hospitals. It’s a national emergency and all stakeholders will have to work together.

Our private sector will standby the government in this moment of trial. We all have gathered to help the ailing humanity.

Our private sector is willing to support the government in Punjab including Lahore.

Meanwhile, the Health Minister chaired a high level meeting at Civil Secretariat to review the Corona situation and vaccination campaign here on Monday.

Present in the meeting were Law Minister Raja Basharat, Chief Secretary Punjab, Additional Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary Home, CCPO Lahore and military and civil officials of the country.

The Minister reviewed Corona control measures, increase in number of vaccination centres, increase in health facilities in Punjab hospitals and facilities.

Additional Chief Secretary Home and Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Ms. Sarah Aslam apprised the Health Minister of the current situation of the Pandemic.

Dr Yasmin Rashid said, “The number of vaccination centers is being increased in the province. We are vaccinating around 80,000 people in a day. In private hospitals, there has been an addition of 40 ventilators and 400 beds.

There will be tougher restrictions in cities having higher positivity rate. All institutions are working collectively to control the Pandemic.

The facilities have been increased in hospitals. The vaccination staff is being doubled at centres.

As per NCOC directions, the SOPS are being strictly enforced. Saving precious lives is our first priority.

The government cannot win this battle without the support of the people. People are requested to follow SOPs.

Law Minister Raja Basharat said that corona situation is being monitored across the province 24 hours.

The oxygen supply is being ensured in all hospitals. Arrangements are being improved at all vaccination centres.
