The inauguration of a new research Lab at Department of Chemistry, School of Science, UMT was carried out by President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad.
The lab is named as Jabir ibn Hayyan Research Lab (JHRL) to acknowledge the contribution of the great Chemist as well as to remember the role of Muslim scientists in Chemistry in general.
The ceremony was attended by UMT Rector Dr Muhammad Aslam; Dean SSC Dr. Azizur Rehman; Prof Dr Jamil Anwar; Chairperson Department of Chemistry Dr Ayesha Mohyuddin; Dr Samia Shahid, Dean ORIC and faculty and staff of the Department of Chemistry.
On the occasion, President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad emphasized on the significance of applied research and motivated the faculty members to enhance their academic output.
He vowed to continue his support in the development of Chemistry and Allied Sciences and research.
Ibrahim Murad also expressed that UMT’s first priority is to develop research-based culture in varsities, as we cannot stand in the list of developed countries, until we achieve milestones in the field of research and development.
