COVID-19: Oman bans passengers from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh from April 24

Oman on Wednesday announced to impose a ban on travellers from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh amid worsening COVID-19 situation in the countries.

Oman’s Supreme Committee for the Prevention of Coronavirus has taken the decision, stating that the ban will be implemented from April 24 till further notice.

The kingdom will also not allowed the passengers, who have visited the three countries in the last 14 days.

However, Omani citizens, diplomats, medical personnel and their families are exempted from the travel ban.

Groups that are exempted will be allowed to enter the Oman in line with Corona regulations.

In addition, the committee has also announced a ban on the entry of children under the age of 12 in commercial complexes and other commercial places.

Commercial complexes, commercial outlets, restaurants and cafes have been directed to allow limited gatherings.

Earlier, Hong Kong has suspended flights from Pakistan, India, and the Philippines for two weeks from April 20 over the COVID-19 situation.
