The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday ordered the removal of long queues of sugar buyers in Ramazan bazaars.

The court summoned the implementation report on Monday.
The court said that the price of sugar was fixed as per the government’s request, yet people are unable to buy sugar.

On which the public prosecutor said that in the Ramadan bazaars sugar is being given by sitting on chairs and not in rows. The court said that if your statement was proved wrong, be prepared for contempt proceedings.

The court inquired how much sugar is being sold at the retail shop? To which the public prosecutor replied that Rs. 85 per kg of sugar was being supplied at the retail shop and Rs. 65 per kg at Ramzan Bazaar.

The court said that the government has made the people beggars only for the saving of rupees 15. Human rights are being violated, there should be no queue to buy sugar.
