Inaugurates Mobile Lunger program with sending food trucks on four different routes

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday declared that the PTI government has made a commitment with Southern Punjab which will be fulfilled at every cost.

“The PTI is the guardian of the rights of Southern Punjab in a real sense and Southern Punjab Secretariat is a hallmark project of PTI and no one will be allowed to sabotage it.”

Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar was talking to MNA Malik Ahmed Hussain Dehaar who called on him here.

Matters of mutual interest and overall political scenario came under discussion during the meeting.

They also reviewed progress on different ongoing development projects in Southern Punjab.

The CM stated that soon Additional Chief Secretary will be appointed in Southern Punjab Secretariat.

He regretted that former rulers allocated only 17% of the budget for the 32% population of Southern Punjab.

He said that in School Up-gradation Programme 38% share has been given to Southern Punjab. A separate ADP Book will be prepared in the next fiscal budget for Southern Punjab.

New schools and dispensaries will be set up in backward and remote areas, he added.

Malik Ahmed Hussain Dehaar lauded the Chief Minister’s vision for the development of Southern Punjab and said that Usman Buzdar is playing the role of guardian of the rights of Southern Punjab.

MNA also praised Chief Minister’s clear stance on the Southern Punjab Secretariat.

Meanwhile, CM Usman Buzdar expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Violinist maestro Ustad Dilshad Hussain Khan.

He extended heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace.

He also expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the sad demise of former Chief Comptroller Abdul Rasheed.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that the positivity rate rise in Covid-19 has put immense pressure on the health system. Strict measures will have to be taken to deal with the third wave of coronavirus.

The Chief Minister said that the ratio of positive cases of corona in five cities of Punjab has been exceeded to 15%. The rate of positive Corona cases in Lahore is more than 19%.

Meanwhile, CM Usman Buzdar formally inaugurated the programme by cutting the ribbon and sent the food trucks on four different routes of Lahore.

Under “Koee Bhooka Na Soy” Project Mobile Lunger program has been launched in two cities of Punjab including Lahore and Faisalabad.

The Route-1 of Lahore is from Thokar Niaz Beg to Data Darbar which cater Multan Chongi Mandi Stop, Chowk Yateem Khana and Choburji.

Similarly, Route-2 included Circular Road, Railway Station, Do Moria Pul, Badami Bagh Auto Parts Market, Masti Gate, General Bus Stand, Sabzi Mandi and Niazi Chowk.

Route-3 will cover Ghari Shahoo, Co-op Stor, Shalamar, Darogay Wala, and Shadipura, whereas, Route-4 has areas including Lakshmi Chowk, Mayo Hospital Chowk, Shah Aalam Market, Dalgaraan Chowk and Dehli Gate.

10,000 lunch boxes will be distributed daily on these routes.

Moreover, two trucks will distribute 10,000 lunch boxes daily at famous areas of Faisalabad.

The Chief Minister said that feeding others is a Sunnah as well as the tradition of Punjabis.

Usman Buzdar further stated that this service of “Meals on Wheels” will be started in other cities of Punjab as well.

He said that in the second phase, mobile kitchen units will also be started where food will be cooked and distributed.

Usman Buzdar congratulated the Sailani Welfare Trust and other concerned departments on the successful launch of “Koee Bhooka Na Soy” Programme.

He said that setting up Pannahgahs and almonries is the first concrete step towards establishing the state of Madinah.
