Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan on Thursday called on Federal Minister for Planning & Special Initiatives Asad Umar at Islamabad and discussed with him matters related to developmental projects of the province with special focus on the developmental schemes and public welfare initiatives being carried out in newly merged districts.
Matter related to mega developmental projects under current Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) and inclusion of priority developmental projects of the province in the upcoming PSDP also came under discussion.
It is pertinent to mention here that, the provincial government had proposed various developmental projects from different sectors for inclusion in next PSDP including Peshawar to DI Khan Motorway, Dir Motorway, Swat Motorway Phase-II, Chashma Right Bank Canal and other projects.
Talking on the occasion, the chief minister said that keeping in view the larger importance of developmental schemes, the provincial government was prioritizing developmental schemes in all sectors of the province so that those projects could be reflected in the next PSDP.
He added that, viable action plans were also being prepared to ensure timely completion of the projects.
Talking on this occasion, Federal Minister Asad Umar termed the accelerated development of backward areas as one of the top priorities of the present government, and said that federal government would extend its all out support to the provincial government in this regard.
Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Federal Secretary for Planning and other relevant high ups were also present on the occasion.
