Secretary Local Government, Housing and Town Planning Sindh Syed Najam Ahmad Shah has said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Township Scheme is a special gift for the poor people of the province, efforts should be brought up for speeding up the great project and bringing development works to completion as soon as possible.
These views were expressed by Najam Ahmad Shah while presiding over a meeting on Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Township Scheme held at his office.
The Benazir Housing Scheme project costs Rs 9421 million under which 50,000 plots each consisting of 120 yards would be distributed to the people belonging to 23 districts of the province, is in fact the enlightened vision and progressive philosophy of the Sindh government, said Secretary Local Government.
According to Najam Ahmad Shah, the Shaheed Benazir Township project should be completed on priority basis with the completion of all construction works as soon as possible and in any case unnecessary delays should be avoided.
Instructing the officers, the Secretary Local Government Sindh said that in the first phase, the ongoing development works of Karachi and Hyderabad should be completed and the development work should be initiated in other districts gradually.
Najam Shah ordered that transparency and merit should be maintained at any cost during the whole process.
Najam Ahmad Shah said that pro active measures should be taken for the supply of water, electricity, sewerage lines and Sui Gas in Shaheed Benazir Township Scheme under a comprehensive plan and the tender process should be completed immediately. Secretary Local Government Sindh directed the Special Secretary Technical to ensure implementation of a comprehensive strategy to continue funding the project without delay.
