The Mandi Bahauddin Police claimed to have busted an inter-district dacoit gang and arrested its seven members including two women and its ringleader.
The gangsters were nicked after a robbery at the house of Khawaja Siddique, a well-known gold trader of the city.
Addressing a press conference, DSP CIA Irfan Safdar Barth claimed that the police recovered gold jewellery, one car and a motorcycle from their possession.
He said that on the instructions of Mandi DPO Syed Ali Raza, the City Police arrested seven members of the inter-district robbery gang.
including its ringleader. He informed that the gangsters committed a robbery at a jewellers’ house, in which they took away Rs6 million in cash and 53 tolas gold jewellery.
The accused looted the house of Khawaja Mohammad Siddique, a well-known money changer of City.
Meanwhile, on the instructions of DPO Syed Ali Raza Bukhari, a double murder accused was arrested in Dhok Kasab in the remit of Saddr Police.
The accused identified as Muhammad Ilyas, son of Altaf Qaum Bhatti, resident of Sargodha was arrested by the police in a dramatic manner. SHO Mujahid Abbas Dhariwal along with the police personnel arrested him.
