15 vaccination centres in urban, rural areas administering doses to elderly persons, health workers

There is no decline in new Covid-19 cases in the federal capital as the city reported on Saturday 796 cases after 7,591 tests in the same period.
The positivity rate in the federal capital remained 10.50 per cent on Saturday while two deaths were also caused by the virus in this period.
Islamabad’s total number of cases stood at 60,197 while the death toll after the two casualties in the last 24 hours has surged to 574.
Meanwhile, the District Health officer of Islamabad while talking to Pakistan Observer said 15 vaccination centres in Islamabad were providing free vaccination service to the elderly people and the frontline health workers.
They include Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, CDA Hospital G-6, Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital, CDA Medical Centre, G-9/4, Kulsoom International, Maroof Hospital F-10, NIRM, Polyclinic, RHC Tarlai, RHC Bhara Kahu, RHC Sihala, Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, Federal Govt Hospital and IHITC.
All the elderly citizens who are registered and have received messages at their mobile phones should visit these vaccination centres to get jabs, he said.
A day earlier, the District Administration in view of a spike in cases of coronavirus, sealed seven more areas in the capital.
These areas are Bahria Town Phase II and III, Sooan Garden Block B, PWD Blolck C, Korang Town, Pakistan Town Phase I, National Police Foundation Block A and DHA Phase II sector A, B, D and E Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Mohammad Hamza Shafqaat said these localities were sealed as the cases were spreading fast among the residents.
Commercial centres and activities in these areas are also closed, except essential services, he added.
Police were also deployed in the areas to implement the sealing orders, the DC said.
An official of the district administration said the number of cases was increasing sharply in Loi Bher, Sihala, Rawat and Tarlai.
