Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday said that the Punjab government is committed to making the helpless girls of Darul Aman productive citizens of the society by educating and training them besides protecting them.
Addressing a press conference at Darul Aman here on Saturday, Dr Firdous said the PTI government considers service to humanity as a sacred mission and is committed to healing the wounds of deserving and needy women, adding that Darul Aman has been set up in each of the 36 districts of the province and is providing welfare facilities to the deserving women.
The SACM said the purpose of the visit is to ensure that the institutions set up for the welfare of the people are efficiently performing their responsibilities and duties or not.
I am happy to know that social welfare institutions like Darul Aman are playing their role in providing all kinds of assistance to the needy and deserving women, she said.
Commenting on the current political situation, Dr Firdous said that the fake princess and her bondmaids have started criticizing Prime Minister Imran Khan again just for face-saving and political mileage.
She said that those who are putting allegations of Rs2.5 billion sugar subsidy on the government have forgotten that Rs27 billion subsidy was given during their tenure and distributed among their nieces, nephews, sons and friends.
The credit goes to the PTI government for holding an impartial inquiry into the issue of sugar subsidy and those responsible were brought to book, she said.
The Special Assistant said that Maryam Nawaz is politically immature and does not know anything about politics, she can only be a good actress but unfortunately, she doesn’t get that opportunity because of the corona situation.
She said that Bilawal Bhutto took a wise decision not to hold a rally in Rawalpindi because of the current wave of corona and we welcome his decision.
Responding to a question, Dr Firdous said that political minors should step down from politics as they can’t understand the ups and downs of politics and they need to learn more.
She said that PDM is history now because of the differences between the PML-N and PPP and now both have started exposing each other.
The SACM said the coronavirus continues to wreak havoc in the country as 67 people have lost their lives including 48 from Punjab during the last 24 hours.
She asked the citizens to take the corona situation seriously and follow SOPs.
The decision for strict lockdown will be taken in NCOC’s meeting to be held tomorrow, she said.
