Amid covid-19 restrictions and bad weather, Pakistan Day was celebrated with national zeal and fervor with the renewal of the pledge to transform the country into a truly Islamic and welfare state in line with the vision of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and poet-philosopher Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
Pakistan Day is celebrated to mark the adoption of historic Lahore Resolution this day in 1940 that provided a framework and foundation for the realization of the goal of a separate homeland for the Muslims of Subcontinent.
The day dawned with a 21-gun salute in the provincial capital and was a public holiday.
Special prayers were offered in mosques after Fajr prayers for the progress, prosperity and solidarity of Pakistan and Muslim Ummah, especially for the liberation of Palestine and Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
All the functions including official ones were held in strict compliance with coronavirus SOPs.
DAY REMINDS GREAT GOALS OF BELOVED HOMELAND
Punjab Senior and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that March 23 reminds us all of the great goals of establishing the beloved homeland, which was established 81 years ago for the Muslims of the subcontinent on the basis of two nation theory.
Speaking on March 23, Pakistan Day marked on Tuesday, he said that the original ideology of the resolution presented at Manto Park is still alive today as the plight of Muslims in India reflects Hindu mentality.
Similarly, it is crystal clear that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and the leaders of the Tehreek-e-Pakistan were right in their verdict to establish new state for the Muslims, he adding that atrocities in Kashmir are also proving how prejudiced the Hindus are.
ALHAMRA CELEBRATES PAKISTAN DAY
The Lahore Arts Council celebrated Pakistan Day with great National enthusiasm at Alhamra Arts Centre, the Mall.
In this regard, Alhamra arranged a colorful event of national songs following by all the Covid SOP’s, the purpose of the program was to pay tribute to the leaders of Pakistan.
The event was broadcast live on the Facebook page. On the occasion, of Pakistan Day, a large crescent-carrying green flag was also placed on the Alhamra building.
On the occasion, Chairperson Board of Governors Lahore Arts Council Moneeza Hashmi said that no gaps would be left in the development of the country.
Executive Director Lahore Arts Council, Dr Aslam Dogar said that Pakistan Resolution Day holds a very historical position in the country and the Islamic world.
Dogar further said that we all should vigorously contribute to making our beloved country even more significant.
Alhamra is playing its role in promoting our language, literature, culture, and good values, he added.
Director Arts and Culture Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi said that Alhamra also spoke on the occasion.
P-DAY A GREAT MILESTONE IN PAKISTAN MOVEMENT
Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said that Pakistan Day, 23 March, is extremely important milestone in the history of the Pakistan Movement. People pledged to gain freedom on this.
In her message, the minister said that the day reminds us to achieve freedom after immense sacrifices.
Today is the day to remember the great hard work and commitment of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the heroes of the struggle of Independence.
The Pakistan Day movement gave new hope to the nation.
The journey to reconstruction of Pakistan shall continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Every individual will have to play positive role in the development of the nation.
NHMP MARKS PAKISTAN DAY
On the directions of Commandant NHMP Training College DIG Mehboob Aslam special arrangements were made to commemorate Pakistan Day at NHMP Training College, Sheikhupura.
The day’s celebrations started with recitation of Holy Quran and prayer for peace and prosperity of beloved Pakistan.
Deputy Commandant NHMP Training College Taimoor Khan laid floral wreath upon monument of Shuhda of NHMP, offered salami and prayed for elevation of departed souls.
Later on, national flag was hoisted and officers of NHMP offered salami to national flag.
