Agriculture University Dera Ismail Khan celebrated World Forest Day to raise awareness about the importance of forest by planting trees at the Varsity.
Speaking to the participants, speakers urged upon the responsibilities that humans owe to the nature by preserving the (free) beauty that it offers.
Coordinator, Forestry Department, Syed Abdul Wahid Shah, said that being the students of the field, we are entitled with the responsibility of informing the masses about the threats that come with the act of deforestation.
Sub Divisional Forest Officer, D.I. Khan, Ameen Ul Islam educated the students about the importance of the day and how plantation drive can help in tackling the issue of climate change.
He also thanked the Lecturer Shoaib Ahmad Anees and University administration for providing him with the chance of being a part of the program.
Registrar Fakhar ud Din, Director Administration Farjad Sikandar Saddozai, Lecturer Umair Sardar and all the staff and students took part in the plantation drive by planting 100 trees in the university. An awareness walk was also organized at the end of the program.
