Minister for Science & Technology Fawad Hussain Chaudhry on Tuesday called for introduction and promotion of cutting-edge technologies in the business sector so that Pakistan’s industry could be at par with the West and other developed societies of the world.
He was addressing as chief guest signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Pakistan’s Alsons Group and Japan’s Tatsuno Corporation on technical collaboration.
The two companies are to combine their resources for Research and Development of automation solutions.
The Minister said Pakistan’s future lies in hi-tech solutions and synergy between the industry and technology. He welcomed the cooperation between the two companies saying it augured well for the country’s hi-tech business.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Rehman Allana, Chairman of Alsons Group said his company wished to join hands with Tatsuno Corporation to accomplish research and development for automation solutions, modernize processes of Software Development and automate the retail fuel solutions for downstream industry segments.
Hiromichi Tatsuno, President of Tatsuno Corporation while expressing his confidence in joint venture with Alsons Group said this will lead to higher end integrated control and automation solutions for process industries.
Planning, analysis, design, development & implementation, testing and maintenance of embedded solutions for underdeveloped countries will also improve through this marriage of Pakistani and Japanese companies, he said.
The objective behind this initiative is to indigenize the mechanization system by technology transfer from Japan, getting the benefit of its superior industrial knowledge and application for closer research collaboration among the two countries.
