IGP to set up CPLC in federal Capital

Islamabad Police was going to set up Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) to bridge gap between police and public as well as to strengthen ties between them.
It was decided in a meeting with Chief of Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) M. H Chinoy who called on Inspector General of Police Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar here to discuss measures for friendly police ecology and gain public support for effective policing, said a press release here on Monday.
CPLC would work under Central Police and its sub-offices would be set up at SSP (Traffic) office and Zonal offices of four SPs to check cases of domestic violence, child abuse, violence against women.
The Committee would also assist police for enforcement of traffic laws, conducting of religious gatherings and maintain law and order in the federal capital, besides providing free legal assistance to the citizens. SSP (Traffic) Farrukh Rasheed, AIG (Opeations) Dr. Ghayas Gul, SP (City) Aamir Niazi and other police officials were also present on the occasion.—APP
