Under the Prime Minister’s National Laptop Scheme, laptops were distributed among the students of Allama Iqbal Open University.
Regional Director Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Dildar Hussain was also present.
Addressing the laptop distribution ceremony, Special Assistant Mr. Ilyas Siddiqui said that the present government has taken revolutionary steps to eradicate backwardness from the region of Gilgit-Baltistan.
He said that the present provincial government was working seriously for the development and welfare of the people.
AIOU is an educational institution that is producing educated people and promoting quality education.
Therefore, it is the responsibility of the educated youth of the area to identify the problems of the area and give suggestions for their solution so that the government will play its practical role in solving the social problems.
He further said that students are the backbone of any nation and the future of the nation is in their hands.
It is education that brings nations from decline to rise. He said that the quota for persons with disabilities would be increased from 3% to 10% and a special bill would be passed in the Assembly.
So that special people will also play their full role in the development of the country and the nation.
Earlier, Regional Director Gilgit-Baltistan Mr. Dildar Hussain welcomed the special guest Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Mr. Ilyas Siddiqui and gave a special briefing on Allama Iqbal Open University.
The Special Assistant commended the role of AIOU in providing free education to special students from matriculation to PhD and assured its full cooperation.
