Political traders, their designs stand exposed: Dr Firdous

Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Wednesday said that the whole world has witnessed horse-trading by political traders and the video has further exposed the corrupt cabal.

The special assistant to CM said that the opposition along with its political designs has been badly exposed, adding that the elements involved in horse-trading have no shame for their misdeeds.

“The so-called heir-apparent to the throne of Jati Umra and Mr. 10 percent have violated all democratic and moral values and the nation will never tolerate any stain on democracy.

PM Imran Khan is fully committed to ensuring transparency in every election and the nation is firmly supporting the PTI’s narrative while the corrupt elements’ so-called narrative has met a natural death, continued SACM.

Meanwhile, Minister for Higher Education and Information Technology Raja Yasir Humayun has said that career counselling centres will be set up in educational institutions to guide the students. A web portal will also be launched soon in this regard.

He was giving an interview to the FM radio and web TV of Lahore College for Women University. The minister also visited the Department of Mass Communication.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Bushra Mirza and Chairperson Department Dr Anjum Zia briefed the minister about the equipment, studios and laboratories set up in the department.

Vice-Chancellor said in his briefing that during the covid-19, Lahore College for Women University continued teaching with the help of the Learning Management System.

The provincial minister lauded the achievement and said that his department wishes to introduce a learning management system in all the universities.

Funds have been released to Punjab Higher Education for the development of software for this purpose.

The minister also held a question and answer session with the students and briefed them about his department and the Punjab government’s performance and plans.

The universities should focus on quality education and research so that the country has a capable workforce, he added.

Meanwhile, the women development department will celebrate international women’s day in a befitting manner to highlight the important role played by womenfolk in the overall development and progress of the society.

Provincial Women Development Minister Ashifa Riaz stated this while presiding over a meeting at the women development secretariat on Wednesday.

Secretary Women Development Umbreen Raza, Additional Secretary Asif ur Rehman and others attended the meeting.

The minister maintained that the day will be celebrated in austere manner to spend more and more funds on the welfare of the women.

This day is an important occasion to sensitise the society about the beneficial role and rights of the women because no society could progress without vibrant contribution of its womenfolk, concluded the minister.
