All candidates for the technocrat and general seats in Punjab for the Senate elections have won unopposed, according to EC Punjab.

A statement issued by the Election Commission of Punjab has said that candidates of all parties have won the technocrat and general seats from the province of Punjab unopposed.

Election Commission Punjab sources said that Azam Nazir Tarar, Syed Ali Zafar, Dr Zarqa, Sadia Abbasi, Sajid Mir, Irfan-ul-Haq Siddiqui, Ejaz Chaudhry, Aun Abbas and Kamil Ali Agha have won Senate seats from Punjab.

Saifullah Sarwar Niazi has also won unopposed from Punjab while Azeem-ul-Haq Minhas and Saiful Malook Khokhar had withdrawn their nomination papers. Afnanullah Khan, son of late Mushahidullah Khan, has also been elected as Senator.

Meanwhile, in a move to ensure the sanctity of vote, the Election Commission of Pakistan has barred the members of the relevant assemblies from bringing mobile phones or any other electronic device to the premises of the polling station on the Senate elections day.

In a notification issued by the ECP Secretariat to all provincial election offices, the Returning Officers have been directed to ensure that no voter may take with him\her mobile phone or any other electronic device to the screened-off compartment where he/she marks preference on the ballot paper.
