Peace, interfaith harmony essential principles of Prime Minister’s vision of Riasat-e-Madina: Allama Ahsan

Eminent religious scholar and Chairman of the Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony, Allama Ahsan Siddiqui has said held that the concept of ‘Riasat-e-Madina’ is derived from the essential principles of Islam that guarantees religious freedom and promotes peace and harmony among the followers of different faiths.

In an exclusive sitting with Pakistan Observer, Allama Ashan Siddiqui who is also Ambassador-at-large for Global Peace & Human Rights (HR) said he believed the state of Pakistan was very much conscious of its responsibilities as well as the rights of the non-Muslims exactly in accordance with the principles of Islam and teachings of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).

Allama Ahsan who came to Islamabad from Karachi to attend an international conference titled ‘Religious Freedom and Minorities Rights’ organized by the Ministry for Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony, expressed his confidence that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, hate-based terrorism would be completely wiped out from the country as the premiere on a number occasions has asserted there is no room for religious extremism in the country.

Allama Ahsan Siddiqui who was among the keynote speakers at the international moot further said ‘Riasat-e-Madina’ founded by the Prophet Peace Upon Him also guaranteed rights to the religious minorities and ensured their rights.

He said dialogue was the only way to resolve conflicts and it is our collective responsibility to seek peace harmony and conflict resolution through dialogue.

Unless we respect each other’s point of view it would not be possible to maintain peace in society, he further said.

The conference was also addressed by President Dr Arif Alvi, Minister for Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony Pir Nurul Haq Qadri, parliamentarians, European Union Ambassador Androulla Kaminara and eminent scholars and religious leaders from across the world.

The international delegation of faith leaders is currently visiting Karachi where Allama Ahsan Siddiqui will be escorting the delegation and accompanying them in their meetings with the provincial political and religious leadership.
