The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Fazlur Rehman on Monday said that there is clear unrest in the government’s ranks over the alliance’s support for Yousuf Raza Gilani for the chairmanship of the Senate.
“Yousuf Raza Gilani’s election as Senate chairman will be an honour for all of us,” the veteran politician said after a meeting with a delegation of Pakistan People’s Party led by the former premier at his residence in Islamabad on Monday. Fazl observed that “inflation is on the rise and the commoners’ power of purchase for even essential commodities has significantly declined”.
