The development project worth of Rs.240 million which include Carpeting of 7.2 kilometers, Drainage, road has been creating acute problem and traffic jam for hours and pollution level has also crossed the dangerous level which is at last grade & very unhealthy which posed a major threat to the citizens.
This is causing great hardship to the citizens and creates traffic jams all the time, especially in peak hours where long ques can be witnessed on both sides of the road.
The affectees include students as well who after reopening of their schools spent most of their time on road due to ill-planned construction and lack of interest of traffic police which never accept it their r National Highways Authority (NHA) has extended its deadline for completion of about seven kilometers piece of Karakuram Highway in Abbottabad from 28th February to 15th March 2021 whereas according to the official record the completion target time would be 21st May 2021.responsibility.
Assistant Director NHA Wasiullah Khan when contacted here on Monday told that deadline of the project has extended to 15th March 2021. He further told that project is supposed to be completed in six months time and completion target was fixed for 21st May 2021.
He told that total project was divided into three packages consisting of 1.8, 1.9 & 3.5 kilometers including the shoulders of the road which can be used for parking as well.
It may be recalled here that Earlier Deputy Director National High way Authority (NHA) Masood Khan told that the target time has been reduced from six months to three month by increasing machinery as well labour on the road and last week of February was fixed deadline for completion of the project.
Khan rule Wasiullah Khan told that they never compromises on the quality of the project and having strict check on each and every aspect of the construction.
