Six men and a woman killed while 10 others injured in a horrific collision between a truck and a car near Mitha Tiwana on Mianwali Road at Botala union council in Khushab on Wednesday. The incident occurred when a Mianwali-bound Hiace car and Khushab-bound truck collided. Police said the overspeeding truck collided with the car amid low visibility caused by an early morning dense fog in the area.

Rescuers shifted the injured, some of them were in critical condition, to the DHQ hospital Jauharabad for medical treatment. A rescue official said six persons died on the spot after the accident and 10 others were injured. One of the injured died during medical treatment, raising the death toll to seven.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar expressed his grief over the Khushab accident and extended sympathies to the families of the passengers. The chief minister asked the administration to provide better medical care to the injured and sought a report of the accident. Road accidents are quite frequent in Pakistan mainly due to poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and unprofessional driving.
