Rs 22.5m loans granted to 700 people

Under ‘Chief Minister Self Employment Scheme’ (SES) on Monday cheques of interest free loans worth Rs 22.5 million were distributed among 700 persons in Sialkot district. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sialkot Zeshan Javed Lashari distributed the cheques among the citizen in ceremonies held at Jamia Masjid Ghousia at Awami road and in village Jamke Cheema.

The Dc while addressing the ceremonies praised the ‘Chief Minister Self Employment Scheme’ and further said that interest free loans would help enable the deserving and skilled people in initiating their own small businesses. He said that the government had sought help from private social welfare organizations like ‘Akhuwat’ in that regard. He opined that such steps would greatly help in mitigating unemployment and encourage economic activities. The Assistant Commissioner Daska Asif Hussain Mehdi was also present.
