Pakistan has recorded 58 more deaths from the coronavirus and 1,262 new infections during the last 24 hours. The rate of recoveries has, however been going up recently, according to figures released by the National Command Operations Centre (NCOC).

As per the latest NCOC data, the country witnessed 5,536 recoveries from the Covid-19 during the past 24 hours (Friday) bringing down the number of the active cases to 25,649.
The overall death toll from coronavirus has gone up to 12,276 after the addition of 58 more fatalities. With the inclusion of 1,262 new infections during the past 24 hours (Friday), the number of total confirmed Covid-19 cases spiked to 561,625.A total of 37,115 tests were conducted across the country during this period. The positivity rate stood at 3.4 percent. As usual, Sindh remained the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
