The OrangiTown track from the City Station was restored and made part of the KCR operation.
Pakistan Railways has made the 14-km track from City Station to Orangi part of the KCR operation in view of the orders of the Supreme Court on the KCR rehabilitation project. The KCR train will now cover 74 km from Orangi to Dabhiji.
KCR-1 will reach City Station from Orangi Station at 4:15 pm via Manghopir, Site, Shah Abdul Latif, Baldia, Lyari, Wazir Mansion Station, covering a distance of 14 km and reaching City Station at a distance of 60 km as per usual. It will cover the distance and reach Dabheji while KCR Down 2 will reach Orangi station at 10.30 am.
There are 12 gates and 8 stations on the 14 km track from the city to Orangi. Pakistan Railways has kept the fare from Orangi to Dabhiji at only Rs 30. A train will consist of five coaches with a total capacity of 500 passengers.
On this occasion, Divisional Superintendent Karachi Railway Muhammad Hanif Gul congratulated the people on the restoration of service on the loop line and said that walking in the loop line of KCR will reduce the travel inconvenience of the people. He also congratulated the officers, employees and workers on restoring the track.
After rehabilitation of Orangi track from City, DS Karachi Mr. Muhammad Hanif Gul along with PDK CR also inspected the remaining 16 km Loop Loan from Orangi to Drug Road
