Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Saturday directed for completion of on-going development projects across Punjab including Sahiwal in a stipulated timeframe in the light of the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“Development is the destiny of the cities like Sahiwal, which were badly ignored in the past.” The chief minister said that requirement of the population and consultation of public representatives are being ensured in preparation of development projects. He maintained that serving the people is the mission of the incumbent government. He said that the installation of latest water treatment plant in Sahiwal will provide potable water to more than five and a half lakh citizens. He said that years old and dilapidated sewerage pipelines are being replaced with a new sewerage system in Sahiwal. Provision of clean drinking water and a new sewerage system will not only uplift the living standard of the people but also protect them from many diseases as well. Establishing green parks in urban areas would solve the pollution problem besides providing recreational activities to the public, especially children, adding that beautification work of the parks of Sahiwal will be ensured.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar paid a surprise visit to Changa Manga. The administration was unaware of his visit. The chief minister, under tree planting campaign, also planted a sapling at the Changa Manga. Usman Buzdar said that new generations will be given a clean and green Pakistan by planting maximum trees. Changa Manga was badly ignored by the former rulers. The timber mafia had political support in the past. Precious forest lands were grabbed. The government has taken indiscriminate action against the qabza mafia in Changa Manga. He termed the 150-year-old artificial forest of Changa Manga as botanical heritage. The Changa Manga is not merely a reserve of trees but also a source of flourishing wildlife. He stressed that the citizens should actively participate in the tree-planting campaign.

On the other hand, members of Provincial Assembly called on Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and apprised him of the issues of their respective constituencies. Those who met with the chief minister include Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht, Adviser Muhammad Hanif Patafi, Shahabuddin Khan, Muhammad Shafi, Javed Akhtar, Alamdar Qureshi, Abdul Hai Dasti, Sardar Farooq Dareshak, Sardar Ahmad Ali Khan Dareshak, Ahmad Shah Khagha, Malik Nadeem Abbas Bara, Sarfraz Hussain and Muhammad Atif. The Chief Minister assured MPAs that their constituency related issues will be resolved, adding that full attention is being paid on the development of backward areas. Usman Buzdar said that he personally takes interest in resolving the problems of public representatives and considers assembly members as his companions. The priority of elected representatives will be considered in the development projects of their constituencies. Chief Whip in Punjab Assembly MPA Syed Abbas Ali Shah was also present on the occasion.
