Ghani briefed on annual school census system

Sindh Education and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani has said that all such schools should be removed from the system where there are more children than permitted.

Only those schools with a children enrollment of 30 or more should be included in the system. The provincial minister expressed frustration over the slow pace of reconstruction of priority schools by the Works Education Department and said that he would personally visit all the schools and take immediate action if any officer was found to be negligent.

He expressed these views while presiding over a separate meeting of Department of School Education and Department of School Education Works Karachi Region at his office on Thursday. Secretary School Education Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo, MD Sindh Education Foundation And other officers were present.  The meeting reconsidered the SEMIS Code policy for existing schools across the province. The Education Secretary informed the meeting that this policy is being considered keeping in view the annual school census. He said that all the schools have been located on Google Map, which can easily see how many schools are located in an area of two kilometers and it can also easily estimate which school has been upgraded. To prevent children from dropping out of school in this area.
