Pakistan needs to decrease duty on import items from Italy: Envoy

Italian Ambassador to Pakistan Andreas Ferraris has said that Italy is agreed to strengthen trade relation with Pakistan Business community for long term in mostly all sectors, and offered Pakistan Business Community to invest in Italy in sectors of Construction, Tourism, and Agriculture.
While talking to Business Community in FPCCI Capital Office Islamabad on Thursday, the Ambassador of Italy said that we wish to work mutually with Pakistan for environmental protection, economic development to increase trade volume through Bilateral Trade.
Head FPCCI Capital Office Islamabad Haji Qurban Ali & Coordinator FPCCI Mirza Abdul Rehman warmly welcome the Ambassador of Italy in FPCCI Capital Office Islamabad and offer full support from the platform of FPCCI to enhance Industry and Trade relations between both the countries.
In European Countries Italy is Pakistan’s important trade partner, because Italy has kept Pakistan on 5ht number in Exports Categories, and in 2019-20 Pakistan exports in Italy were 810million dollars and imports from Italy were 937 million dollars. And this has increased Bilateral Trade volume up to 1.74 billion dollars. And during the above said tenure 3 major sectors exports were on boom (Textile, Leather, and Rice).
Speaking on the occasion, Haji Qurban Ali said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC is in progress and Economic Zones are under construction in many areas of Pakistan under the said project, and on other side Pakistan had given excessive Tax relief in the Zones to the investors.
Haji Qurban Ali and Mirza Abdul Rehman advised Italian Ambassador Andreas Ferraris that if Italian Companies invest here in Pakistan then we are a profitable market in the region. We have sectors of tourism, mine and minerals, Hydel Power and construction as well through which Italian investors have to take benefit.
