The ex-servicemen have expressed their anger against the DC Gujrat for straying construction of DASB boundary wall. On 13 January 2021, when the construction started, the Chief Officer District Council Gujrat on the order of the DC came to the site and stopped the construction.
When contacted, Deputy Director DASB Lt Colonel (retired) told that on 19 August 1967 Ex-servicemen Association Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin then headed by late Lt Colonel Akbar Raja Sitar e Jurhat of Mandi Bahauddin purchased land measuring 9 Kanal 4 Marla from the Lions Club Gujrat, and built a guesthouse and shops to generate income for the welfare of widows of martyrs and deceased soldiers. The cost of the land and expenditure on construction was funded with donations by the ex-servicemen of the area including a major portion of funds.
