Patients at the outpatient department of the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Teaching Hospital Abbottabad were left frustrated on Wednesday after doctors boycotted their duties. The doctors were boycotting outpatient department (OPD) of the District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) Abbottabad as they protested against the proposed DHA/RHA law in the province.
Medical and paramedical staff locked down the OPD reception desk. While during the strike, operations in the emergency, intensive care units and operation theatres remained functional. Some disgruntled patients who had to return empty-handed said that they had come to the hospital for treatment but the strike by doctors had deprived them of their right for treatment.
