On the directives of Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani, operation against anti-social elements has been in full swing across the province, which has helped greatly in crime decrease abd restoration of public trust in the police.
In this connection, the Kasur District Police under the leadership of DPO Imran Kishwar carried out vigorous crackdown on criminals during the month of December which resulted in a significant reduction in the crime rate in the district.
Sharing details, DPO Imran Kishwar informed that said that police arrested 505 criminals and busted as many as 13 dacoit gangs involved in dozens of serious incidents in December. Stolen property worth Rs6.8 million and modern illegal weapons were recovered from their possession.
While conducting operations against criminals, 121 dangerous criminals involved in serious cases like murder, robbery, robbery were arrested while 38 fugitives were arrested. The arrested criminals include 43 A- category proclaimed offenders as well as 45 criminals of 13 dangerous dacoit gangs involved in dozens of serious incidents and stolen goods worth Rs6.8 million and modern illegal weapons were recovered from the possession of the accused. Likewise 57 cases were traced from the arrests of the accused. Cases were registered by seizing 44 kg charas,2599 liter alcohol , 140 liters of lahan and 05 running wine manufacturing kilns, cracking down on illegal arms holders from the possession of 160 accused, a Kalashnikov, 10 rifles, 16 guns, 01 carbine and 129 pistols were recovered, 9 gambling dens were raided and 42 accused were arrested and thousands of rupees were recovered from the hands of the accused. While cracking down on the kite-flyers, 956 kites and strings were recovered from the possession of 13 accused. DPO Imran Kishwar said that surprise visits to police stations are being carried out to further improve the performance of the police while there is a zero tolerance policy on corruption and misuse of power.
He further said that to ensure safety of life and property of citizens, Crackdown on bandits, proclaimed offenders, drug dealers, habitual criminals and criminal elements will continue on a daily basis and full use of modern technology is also being made in this regard.
