Spokesperson for Government of Sindh & Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh for Law, Environment & Coastal Development Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that the campaign under the leadership of Chief Minister Sindh is going on successfully to remove the garbage from Karachi and make the city clean. He was expressing his views while holding a press conference in Sindh Assembly Building.
He said that DMCs and Cantonment Boards had the primary responsibilities of collecting garbage from the city, but Sindh government is collecting garbage from the entire city with no discrimination. He also said that Solid Waste Board was picking up trash in the four districts of Karachi now by the order of Sindh government SWB now collecting garbage from District Central and Korangi. He further added that now the daily waste was being raised from eleven thousand tones to 14,000 tones to reduce the backlog of garbage from the city.
Provincial Advisor said “we are fulfilling our duty and will start transfer the garbage at the GTS points in the city from tomorrow for this purpose, about 250 dumper and heavy machinery are using to clean city. Replying to questions from journalists, he said that large stones and bricks were extracted from the sewage line in Malir, which is nothing but a miscarriage of the hostages.
Advisor begged to those elements not to interfere with our work and to assist us in cleaning the city. Advisor appealed to the public to put their garbage only at the trash can and the garbage point.
