Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan on Friday claimed that internal differences within the ranks of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) exposed in today’s Jati Umrah meeting.
Talking to journalists, Firdous Ashiq Awan said that PMD’s leadership could not agree on a common agenda despite holding a six-hour-long session.
She maintained that PMD’s narrative had died in Jati Umrah. The special assistant said that the opposition parties had formed the alliance to protect their personal interests. PDM has nothing to do with national and public issues, Firdous added.
Divisions had emerged within the ranks of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) as top leaders of the opposition alliance discuss the future course of action against the incumbent government.
The meeting was attended by PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, PPP leaders Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto via video link while the other PDM leaders attended the meeting at Jati Umra in person.
FIRDOUS ASHIQ TURNS \RESCUER 1122
Firdous Ashiq Awan, special assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on information, on Friday found an opportunity to ride a Rescue 1122 motorcycle during a passing out ceremony. The video clip of Firdous Ashiq Awan showing off her motorcycle riding skills has gone viral on social media. She even wore the red helmet and vest of the Rescue personnel. Firdous Ashiq Awan had recently won the internet over after videos of her kicking a football and also breaking bricks in a karate action went viral.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to CM on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs Raja Basharat jointly presided over the 33rd passing-out ceremony of 446 cadets of Rescue 1122 at Emergency Services Academy Thokar Niaz Baig here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan felicitated the passing out cadets and said the Rescue 1122 has established its credibility just because of excellence through professionalism. She said the rescuers were the real heroes and pride for all of us as they put their lives in danger to protect and save the lives and properties of people. While appreciating the performance of Rescue 1122, Dr Firdous said that rescue cadets served on the frontline against any calamity.
The SACM said the government was taking steps to establish a welfare state on the model of the city State of Madinah. She appreciated the work done by DG Dr Rizwan Naseer to develop Rescue 1122 on modern lines.
Dr Firdous urged the rescuers to perform their duties with responsibility and courage, adding that the prime responsibility of every rescuer was to timely respond in emergencies and save the lives of the people. “Every human life is precious and its protection is foremost priority and responsibility of the rescuers,” she remarked. The Law Minister also spoke on the occasion.
Dr Firodus drove the motorcycle ambulance and remarked that she was ready to rescue Maryam Safdar to heal her wounds. DG Rizwan Naseer briefed the SACM about different types of equipment used for rescue operations during a visit to the academy.
