Minorities have complete religious freedom

Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Zeeshan Javed Lashari has said that minorities have complete religious freedom in Pakistan and they are completely free to live according to their beliefs while the Constitution of Pakistan also emphasizes the protection of non-Muslims and their places of worship. He said this while addressing a special meeting of the District Interfaith Harmony Committee, Sialkot.
Meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Farooq Akmal, Assistant Commissioner Sialkot Sonia Sadaf, Vice Chairman District Peace Committee Hafiz Asghar Ali Cheema, Jaskaran Singh, Hakeem Ratin Lal, Malik Zakir Hussain Awan and other religious leaders. Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Zeeshan Javed Lashari further said that the government was taking stern action against those who damaged the temple in Karak and the elements who were tarnishing the atmosphere of peace could not escape the clutches of the law.—Faisal Khawer Butt
