The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has started digging into alleged irregularities in Tepa Walk and Shop Arena. The anti-corruption watchdog will also grill former chief engineer Mazhar Hussain and other Tepa personnel on charges of being involved in irregularities.
Authorities suspended these accused after NAB arrested them in a couple of months ago.
The Bureau sent a letter to the Lahore Development Agency (LDA) for a formal inquiry.
The project could not be finished in four years even its budget was increased substantially. According to NAB, Mazhar was found involved in corruption as being a public office holder. As per the bureau, during the course of Inquiry, it was revealed that the suspect holds several precious properties, bank accounts in his own and his family members’ names along with a benamidar suspect, Anjum Zeeshan.
